Our Story

SOLRA-PV is a spin-off company from Israel’s prestigious Hebrew University, leveraging the cutting-edge research of Professor Lioz Etgar to bring innovative solutions to the marketplace. Established in 2021, with the support of the university’s Tech Transfer Company, Yissum and the Racah Nano Venture Fund. The technology and fabrication process are based on direct printing highly stable layers, making the fabrication of perovskite devices more economically viable and appealing than ever before.

Our Team

The team of SOLRA-PV consists of experts in renewable energy, perovskite, and printing technologies.

Dr. Yousef Farraj holds a Ph.D. from the Hebrew University, with a specialization in printing technologies and material science, and has extensive experience of over a decade in ink formulations and various printing methods. Dr. Farraj has established startups from idea to prototype, through trials and scaling up products for commercialization.

Dr. Bat-El Cohen Wiezel holds a Ph.D. from the Hebrew University, specializing in the fields of photovoltaics, perovskite, and material science. For over a decade, Dr. Wiezel conducted research and developed perovskite-based solar cells, from their inception. Dr. Wiezel was involved in industrial-academic collaborations for the commercialization of new technologies.

Prof. Lioz Etgar, Chief Scientific Officer and founder of SOLRA-PV, is a leading researcher and academic staff member at the Hebrew University. He is a pioneering scientist in the field of perovskite solar cells, among the first to demonstrate the functionality of perovskite as a light harvester and hole conductor, simultaneously. Along with his expertise, he is passionate to promote the use of green energy, pushing the boundaries of solar cell technologies and re-envisioning its applications across industries and everyday situations.

Dr. Dov Reichman general manager at Racah Nano Venture Foundation specializes in advanced materials & nano technologies innovation and investments. A member of the MIT technology review global panel. Dr. Reichman served as CEO, board member, and advisory committees of many high-tech companies, and VP for patent licensing at the Hebrew University.
